"I had my eyes closed in panic the entire time. All I could hear were explosions, destruction, and sounds of a battle occurring. Punches thrown and received, blows exchanged and taken, and then…it sounded as if someone one was thrown into the cell door. More fighting, more violence, and then…

I was weightless. I was being carried by someone, it was a familiar touch, but I couldn't be sure. The surrounding explosions and heat sort of clouded my focus. The wind blew through my hair as I flew through what I would guess was Mephiles' many halls. Then I heard the sound of glass shattering. Either a really big vase was knocked over in the confusion, or we broke out the window.

Through the slight openings in my hands I could see the night sky, then the ground took it's place. I was falling, this time without the grip I felt before. It was just me. I was afraid to open my eyes and see the whole thing, thinking I would faint at the sight.

Seems it didn't matter how well I saw it. The blackout came anyway.

"I thought you got over your fear of heights…" A deep voice woke me up. As my eyes lulled open, I could make out the fiery tower in my blurred vision. Looking around, I saw a dark figure standing near the edge, curved quills, unmistakable black and red fur.

It was Shadow…alive and well, a look of triumph on his face. He turned to me and kneeled by my side. "You okay?" I nodded slowly, still stunned from the ordeal. I knew he would return, I knew it…he always does. Looking out to the inferno that lay miles away, I let out a weak chuckled.

"Looks like Mephiles' going to need a redecorator thanks to you, Shadow." He looked out to the explosions himself, and smiled with a chuckle.

"Ah, demolition... My favorite hobby…" He said with a wink. He wrapped his arms around me and picked me up. He was ready to head home.

"I knew I could count on you…" I said, before giving him a little peck on the cheek. He smiled and told me to rest, and that we'd be home shortly.
