History and Info:
Devlin wasn't the master student, nor was he the type to sit down and listen to the dribble of teachers, but he always fascinated with the life and times of illegality and piracy. He was often found getting involved in mischievous plans and pranks as a kid, and then into little skirmishes with the law as he got older. But as he did get older, his schemes and guts grew much more intricate, and he eventually settled into the life of a bandit. However, while he was involved in a less than traveled lifestyle, he never let the one thing that he always wanted to keep safe, fall into it with him. That was his little sister, Angela.
He was always protective of her, when it came to boys, school, or anything that he could help with, he was there. She tried to come with him on one of his ventures, but he immediately declined her company, saying that he didn't want her to come into such a life where the strong get scraps, and the ruthless have it all. While she never understood why he took it on and forbade her to do so, she understood and obeyed, given all that he had done for her.
Devlin became noticed and later part of the small-time pirate-wannabe gang, the Hurons, and got into much more rewarding capers, stealing from real pirates, navy ships, and other cargo. They became notorious soon enough, and began to take the town they lived in by storm. Soon almost every kid over thirteen was involved in some Huron business. Devlin rose in ranks, and eventually made a rival of a fellow member, Draine Bradev, of which he would constantly outdo and impress the higher ups with his skills. It was all fine and dandy, but one night changed everything.
One plan to take half the cargo of the ship, "The Nostra Dames" was set with fifteen members of the Hurons, Devlin being one of them. It went perfectly in terms of infiltration and collection, but then the group got greedy, and decided to attempt to take the entire cargo. The pirates came down on them, and a battle ensued within and over the ship, until someone saw it fit to toss a Molotov Cocktail and set the entire ship on fire. This separated the two factions, allowing the surviving Hurons to climb up the Crow's Nest and leap onto the cliff overlooking the ship. The disaster did not look good on the Hurons, so those involved were given leave and no work for months almost. Devlin thought he had gotten off scott-free minus the days of work taken away, but that was not so. Weeks later, his sister had gone missing, and exactly twelve days later, a brigade of pirates broke into his home and beat him until he could no longer keep himself awake. Then they took him to the owners of that ship.
